Peep Hole Jesus

Revelation 3:19-20

19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

If you’ve ever stayed in a motel or hotel of any sort, you’re probably familiar with the fact that all the doors have peep holes installed into them. The peep hole was designed for people to be able to see who or what was on the other side of their door, before opening it up. In other words, it creates, or keeps, distance between you and whatever is on the other side of your door.

Some things can look better when viewed from a distance like:

  1. Fireworks
  2. Sharks
  3. Art

But… God is NOT one of them!

God must be experienced!

Psalm 34:8 O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

When it comes to Jesus: you’ve to get your hands dirty; you’ve to get involved, jump in with both feet: “taste and see.”

Luke 19:1-10

1 And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.

2 And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.

3 And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.

4 And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.

5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.

6 And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.

7 And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.

8 And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord: Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.

9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.

10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

God is knocking today for you!

What must I do to experience God?

Make a commitment in your mind to go His way!

Unlock the door! Open the door! Accept what He has to give! Willingly yield to His spirit and allow Him to take control of your life!
