The Stipulation And The Promise

For generations, or should I say the beginning of time, the world has been headed downhill. It seems no matter what God does in humanity; Satan finds a way to divert us from God. Not to say that Satan is to blame, because he has no power over humanity; only influence and that seems to be a powerful weapon in Satan’s arsenal to defeat God.

I hope you don’t think that Calvary stopped Satan from trying to take rule over heaven, because it didn’t.

Calvary was the supreme sacrifice of the almighty God giving men dominion over sin through his shed blood. The blood of Jesus cleansed us from our sins and iniquities and gave us a better hope in this life. Jesus came that we would have a better life and power to overcome evil, but it is up to us how we use the power of God.

The guilt for what happens in this world is not that God hasn’t provided for us; but we, that are supposed to be the functional body of Christ, have failed to do just that, be what Jesus was and still is.

Luke 10:18-20

18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

The power of the Holy Ghost was given to help humanity find a relationship with God, to give him power to do good and not evil, but somewhere in time we let go of God and have clung to the fleshly desires that rule us even to this day.

God has given us a goal and that would be heaven, but he also gave us a job to do and that is to use the Power of His Spirit to do what He, the Apostles, and countless others have done and that is to defeat our enemy the devil.

Look through the generations of people since the beginning of time from Adam all the way to now; sin caused us to be about our own business and not the business of God.

Adam’s first rebellion cost us a lot and we have paid dearly for it; the flesh itself is an adversary to you, if you allow it to control you.

Galatians 5:16-18

16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

Walking in the Spirit is where we are lacking, because we have a tendency to walk more in the flesh; I’m not trying to be sarcastic, but you have to admit: if the flesh doesn’t want to obey God, you will make an excuse not to. There is always an excuse, but let me ask you, is it acceptable to Jesus?

Look at the lives of the Apostles; it was a continual sacrifice to be acceptable. Satan has deceived the world with Scripture to think that all you have to do is accept Christ and you are saved and you can continue to sin and still go to heaven.

Deuteronomy 5:28-29

28 And the Lord heard the voice of your words, when ye spake unto me; and the Lord said unto me, I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken unto thee: they have well said all that they have spoken.

29 O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!

Why is it that we think missing the word of the Lord is no big deal; like my business is more important?

God brought Israel out of Egypt, but Egypt never came out of the majority of the Israelites. How can people be content in bondage?

1 Kings 6:11-13

11 And the word of the Lord came to Solomon, saying,

12 Concerning this house which thou art in building, if thou wilt walk in my statutes, and execute my judgments, and keep all my commandments to walk in them; then will I perform my word with thee, which I spake unto David thy father:

13 And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.

It’s not that God forsakes us, but we disobey him. Our disobedience causes him to withdraw from our unholy ways. Disobedience is an abomination unto God.

2 Chronicles 7:17-20

17 And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded thee, and shalt observe my statutes and my judgments;

18 Then will I stablish the throne of thy kingdom, according as I have covenanted with David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man to be ruler in Israel.

19 But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;

20 Then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it to be a proverb and a byword among all nations.

What God is saying is, “I will take all the work and effort that you have put forth to build me a house and it shall be destroyed.”

It’s not an ‘I go to church thing, I pay my tithes, and give an offering thing,’ it’s that we are fully obedient to God.

Solomon’s in his old age built houses for the God’s of his wives and he bowed down and worshipped them.

John 8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Matthew 25:21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

Exodus 15:24-26

24 And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink?

25 And he cried unto the Lord; and the Lord shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them,

26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.

To get what God’s got, you have to do what God says: God doesn’t have to fulfill his word if we are disobedient unto Him.

Adam was hand made by God and he lost his paradise because of his disobedience.

Cain killed his brother because of Jealousy because Abel found favor in God’s eyes; Cain had the same opportunity, but offered up what he wanted to Give to God, instead of what God expected him to give.

Genesis 4:6-7

6 And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?

7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

Psalm 95:8-11

8 Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work.

10 Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways:

11 Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest.

Isaiah 58:1-2

1 Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.

2 Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God.

Israel could only eat certain things, wear certain things, offer up certain sacrifices, and enter into the tabernacle a certain way, but today we count the house of God as nothing, we don’t worship as we should and I could name a lot to things where we lack.
