I’ve Come Too Far To Settle For So Little
I can’t have what I don’t believe.
I can’t get it unless I seek and I can’t have the things that want unless I am willing to accept the word of God.
- If you don’t want to be spiritual you never will be.
- If you don’t want to go any further in God then you never will.
- God will let you follow the flock
- Eat of the same thing
- Drink from the same well
- But in the end he will separate the sheep from the goats.
You got to want more to get more.
Your flesh will get the buffet and eat way too much and you may get full, but the consequences may not be what you want in the end.
- You can come to church and hear what others hear
- Feel what others feel
- But never get what others got.
Because you received it in the flesh and then others received it by the spirit.
If all you ever eat and feast on is carnality then death is all you will ever have.
But if you are hungry and thirsty for righteousness then you shall be filled.
What do you want?
To get anything from the Spirit you have to get in the birthing position, which is Prayer.
The carnal mind refuses to accept the things that are Spiritual.
Carnality means you make decisions in the flesh, and that is all that you have to do to be a carnal person.
Carnality means you operate on:
- How it looks,
- How it feels
- What you heard.
And you can dance all over the church and speak in tongues and you are still a carnal person!
You are a carnal person because you are responding to the flesh and not the spirit.
If you sow unto the flesh, you will reap is corruption, but if you sow to the Spirit you will reap everlasting life.
What God wants to do through you won’t come through your senses; it will come through His spirit.
When you operate by your carnal senses you will always go right back to where you were.
What God sends us doesn’t come through our senses but it comes through His spirit.
Most people base their decisions on what they feel in the flesh.
- I don’t feel good
- It’s too hard
- I can’t.
This is because you haven’t been in the birthing position long enough.
But if you live long enough, the pain is going to get so great that you will either get in the birthing position or what’s in you is going to die out of you.
All your desire will be gone.
You don’t care one way or the other and you are taking the broad road that leads to destruction.
The Straight path takes some dedication:
- You got to walk right,
- Live right,
- Pray right
…And that is too straight for some, and it means you have to crucify the flesh.
1 Corinthians 2:9-10 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
You can’t just pick up the word of God and read it and say I understand it; you got to do what Paul told Timothy.
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
That takes a lot of time from the flesh and most people aren’t willing to pay the price.
You have to stay in the birthing position a lot.
You don’t know what God wants for you until you get into the Spirit.
1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Hebrews11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
With your flesh you can’t see it, neither can you hope for it or receive it because it is the evidence of Gods Spirit.
Example: A suit started out as a thought then it became a fabric, then it became a suit, then a man became a customer and bought the suit and now he has a suit.
It didn’t start with the fabric it started with a thought.
If you can get spiritual things in your thoughts then you can have it.
If you are going to be transformed it has to start by the renewing of the mind so that you might prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
It doesn’t come by the flesh but by the spirit.
When you are disobedient it is flesh, when you are obedient it is Spirit.
Scripture says: he that has an ear let him hear what the Spirit says to the church.
The flesh says this service has lasted to long the Spirit says preach it Pastor!
The problem is most people hear with the wrong ear. They hear with the fleshly ear and not the spiritual ear.
When you hear in the fleshly ear you cannot obey because the flesh wars against the spirit and the spirit against the flesh.
- In the flesh you’ll always be late for prayer meeting,
- You will always be late for church,
- You will never volunteer to help do anything,
- You will always complain about something because that’s flesh.
The flesh is death and the Spirit is life. The flesh is not subject to the laws of God and cannot be. That is why people refuse to obey the spirit.
If you hear negative it isn’t from God, if it speaks against the spirit.
- Our flesh says we are sick,
- We don’t feel good
- I can’t do that
- The spirit says by his stripes we are healed.
- Faith comes by hearing and not feelings.
- And I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.
Isaiah asks this question:
Isaiah 53:1 Who hath believed our report? And to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
People who have the Spirit of God will believe the Word of God and do what it says without complaint.
If we are going to please God it will take some suffering and some sacrifice.
But only the spiritual will do that the flesh is too weak to follow the spirit.
Here is what Jesus said:
Matthew 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
