There Is A Time To Hang On And A Time To Let Go

There is a time to hang on and there is a time we must let go, the wise man said

Eccl 3:1-9 To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

2 A time to be born and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

3 A time to kill and a time to heal; a time to break down and a time to build up;

4 A time to weep and a time to laugh; a time to mourn and a time to dance;

5 A time to cast away stones and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing;

6 A time to get and a time to lose; a time to keep and a time to cast away;

7 A time to rend and a time to sew; a time to keep silence and a time to speak;

8 A time to love and a time to hate; a time of war and a time of peace.

9 What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?

· I want you to know that I believe this is the time to let go of the past and focus on the future.

· It is time to go forward and look to God to fulfill all things

· If we focus on the past and all its failures or even its success, it will never benefit us one bit. It is time to let go.

· We must take our dreams and the prophecies to the next level!

· I still believe it is time to let go of what was and look to what is and what can happen.

As long as we are looking backward at things that have happened, we can never stay focused on the future for us, or for our children and this city.

1. We have looked back at dreams and prophecies of the past and tried to wait for them and we need to look for them to happen, make them happen.

2. But we need a fresh look, a fresh anointing and a fresh revelation of Jesus Christ and his will for the church of today.

We can either look forward or continue in a circle of defeat and be satisfied with the norm.

Or we can look to Jesus, the author and the finisher of our faith, and run this race that is set before us. Hebrews 12

The Apostle Paul wrote in Philippians 3:13-14

13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

That means do everything possible to go forward and beyond yesterday and look for a fresh vision, a fresh dream and see the reality of God’s great power manifesting himself in us.

We can dwell on yesterday and miss the will of God for today and for the future.

We have family to be saved and that should encourage us to seek the Lord right now!

If we wait for things to happen on their own it will probably never happen.

We must rev up our prayer meetings, re-evaluate our relationship with God

And commit ourselves to see the Kingdom of heaven come to earth.

When God brings Revival, he will bring it to a church that is focused and anointed with the power of God!

He will bring it to a church that is unified in the Spirit of the Holy Ghost!

We have talked long enough about doing something; I believe it is time to do what we have been talking about.

· We can pray about it and that won’t make it happen.

· We can fast and that won’t make it happen.

· We have to go forward and work for what God has promised us.

Acts 16:9-10

9 And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.

10 And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavored to go into Macedonia,assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.

A. Immediately he endeavored to go to Macedonia,

B. He didn’t wait, he didn’t make plans he didn’t try to raise the money

C. He just went, trusting God to fulfill the vision.

He was sure that God had called him to go help!

· We don’t have time for things to get just right before we do something.

· The time is right and the time is right now!

Churches have fought the same ole battle for ages; they have been defeated because they do not want to step out of their comfort zones.

They are like the spies that went into Canaan all they could see was the obstacles standing in the way.

They were so afraid of the giants that they forgot the promise that God had made and that was to give them the land!

All we see here is the problem of this city, but I can see the solution to the problem.

Jesus said go ye and we must go,

We must preach this gospel to every creature in this city.

Not just the poor or those addicted, but the rich, the middle class, the black, the white and the Spanish.

1. We need to stop stereotyping everyone, forming our opinion on who can be saved and who will not be saved.

2. Brother Wayne Huntley said; “We need to catch them and let God clean them.”

3. Too many are trying to dress them, before they catch them!

Many people have hung on to the past and hindered the future.

a. There will never be a victory without a battle

b. Success without failure

c. Power without Prayer

d. Or deliverance without fasting! And heaven without obedience!

No one is perfect, not you, not me and surely not the ones we are after.

If we can lead them to Jesus he can make all the changes they will need to survive in this imperfect society we live in.

1. We can choose to remove mountains or circle them.

2. We can either be unified and see a powerful move of God or just sit and die.

3. Are you willing to sacrifice your family to the devil or fight for their freedom?

4. We can either enter the fight for survival or hide behind these walls and pretend we are in the will of God!

What’s it going to be church? You need to let me know; I refuse to die in a storm that can be calmed by prayer and obedience to God.

· We can either sit in the boat or walk on the water, what’s it going to be?

· We are too focused on our will and not on God’s will.

· To addicted to pleasure and not willing to sacrifice.

· We need prayer warriors that desire a close walk with God.

We must have the anointing to fulfill the will of God. We must be obedient.

The anointing comes by our constant relationship with God. We must have a direct, open communication with the Heavenly Father.

Acts 17:28

8 For in him we live and move and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, for we are also his offspring.

God has given the commandment to go, are you willing to go? God has said to:

Luke 14:23

23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

While we wait for the right moment or the right opportunity, there is a multitude dying every day without God.
