When We Stop Measuring Everything, The Miracles Will Begin

Text:  Zecheriah 2:1 CHAPTER 2

1 ‍I lifted up mine eyes again, and looked, and behold a man with a measuring line in his hand.‍ 2 ‍Then said I, Whither goest thou? And he said unto me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is the breadth thereof, and what is the length thereof.‍ 3 ‍And, behold, the angel that talked with me went forth, and another angel went out to meet him,‍ 4 ‍And said unto him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls for the multitude of men and cattle therein:‍ 5 ‍For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.[1]

First, we must believe that we have been divinely appointed by God to be His representatives on this planet. That must get in our spirit.   We must believe that we have been appointed by God to be His Royal Ambassadors to carry on the mission of Jesus Christ.  Anything less than that makes us stagnant.

What would you try if you believed God would back you up and the Holy Ghost would move through you when you laid hands on somebody in Jesus Name?

We’re not the ones who have to fulfill the promise, but rather God is the fulfiller!!!!

We must understand that we are supposed to reveal Jesus, and not us.  We are supposed to reveal redemption, and not perfection.

We don’t reveal Jesus just because we speak in tongues and don’t smoke cigarettes.  We are Jesus’ replacements on this earth until He comes back!

The first body got snatched out of here on a cloud, and the second body is going soon, but until then we are supposed to be doing what He did.  If you want to know what to do, read about Jesus’ life!

We should be exercising such real Christianity that lives are changed on a regular basis!

Jesus said, “The works that I do, they bear witness of me that the Father hath sent me.  Jesus said, If I don’t do the works of my Father, don’t believe me.”

We say, “If I teach doctrine and tell the truth, believe me.”

Jesus taught doctrine and he told the truth, but He did not stop there!!!

Could it be that we have substituted doctrine for demonstration?  Could it be that we are hiding behind theology as a substitute because we can’t heal the sick, raise the dead, and we can’t cleanse people with aids.  We’ve must stop measuring everything so that miracles can flow!

We’ve got to be delivered from this damnable attitude that everything that doesn’t look like us, dress like us, talk like us, act like us, that God is not interested in those people, but the truth is that Jesus Christ loves everybody, period, and He wants all men to come to Him!

God wants to give us some miracles as soon as we stop measuring stuff!

The problem that can often stop the miraculous can be more simple than what we have often thought:

We often think that our faith is not big enough:  wait just a minute:  Jesus said if ye have faith as a grain of mustard see you will boot that mountain out of sight!

The problem is what I have on my belt.

I can measure your Christianity and stop the miraculous on a dime.

We are foolish to think that we can measure our way to a book of Acts revival.  And we are fools if we align ourselves with this young man in Zechariah 2:

and another angel went out to meet him,‍ 4 ‍And said unto him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls for the multitude of men and cattle therein:‍ 5 ‍For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.[2]

Where are you going young man?  To measure Jerusalem.  Why?  To come up with the length and the breadth of it.  You mean you’re going to measure it and set its limits and rob its future?

God intents for Jerusalem to be so huge, to be so awesome, and to be so great that you are not going to build a wall around it…..the Lord said, I’ll be a guard around it!!!!

Saints need to get rid of their measuring tapes and let God protect His church!

I’m  ready to let the miracles begin!

You say, “But I’ve had this thing a long time.”

Here we go!

You can put a tape on the wilderness, but not on God!

The religious leaders of Jesus day measured everything He did and they missed the greatest miracle ministry that has ever walked the face of the earth.
