I Can Still Go Free!!

Intro:

A song sung by Kenny Hinson and a number of other people ask this question “Tell me what kind of man would reach out his hand and do this for me?”

I have asked that question so many times in my own life…  Who am I God? That you would sacrifice so much for a sinner like me?

But the scripture tells us this: Isa 55:8-9…” For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.”

9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Thank God that I can still go free!! Thanks God for the scripture like: “1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.   KJV

That means I can still Go free.

·        It doesn’t give me a license to sin because he is good.

·        But it gives me a chance to repent and turn from my evil ways.

·        It lets me know that I have forgiveness of sins.

1 John 2:1-2

And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous :

2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.  KJV

    I can still go free

The song continues: Unworthy to live and not fit to kill, Yet a man on the cross put me in His will And said that I could still go free.

When I question in my heart why God? I keep getting the answer: Because of mercy and grace and the love of God.

The song says: Now I never could quite understand why a king would want to leave His throne.

To dawn the robe of an earthly man and feel the pain of flesh, flesh and bone

Then to later trod that lonely path That lead to Calvary….But those blood red stains broke all my chains. Hallelujah

So that I could still go free…

The beginning of this song gives a clear detail of our faith in God when we can make this statement and mean it.

·        Lock me up in a prison And throw away the key

·        Take away the vision From these eyes that now, now can see

·        Then deprive me of the food I eat And even bind my hands and feet

For as long as I know Jesus I can still go free.

I wonder if we can get to this stage in our life that we can make this statement and live by it.

·                   Can we say truly…? Jesus whatever it takes I want to serve you.

·                   Whatever I have to give up, whatever I have to sacrifice, no matter what.

I want to still go free.

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.  KJV

This is why I can still go free, this is the reason I can make it when all else is against me.

This is why some of you that struggle with addictions and failure can make it.

Because God so Loved the world I can still go free.

1.  Not because I am good…. but because God is good.

2.  Not because of my righteousness but because he is righteous.

3.  But the fact is that God so loved the world.

“I can still go free.”

Somebody tell me what kind of man would reach out his hand and do this for me?

Unworthy to live and not fit to kill but a man on a cross put me in his will and said that I could still go free.

·                   Now I never could quite understand why a king would wanna leave His throne.

·                   To dawn the robe of an earthly man…. and feel the pain of flesh, flesh and bone.

·                   Then to later trod that lonely path….That lead to Calvary

·                   But those blood red stains broke all my chains
So that I could still go free.

·                   The woman at the well had no hope in John chapter 4

·                   In Mark 2-9 a man sick of the palsy had no hope

·                   In Mark 5:41 the woman with the issue of blood had lost all hope

·                   In Luke 17: a widows son was dead and there was no hope

·                   A ruler’s daughter died there was no hope.

And the list goes on and on people who had no hope until.

Jesus said you can still go free!!!

1.           When there seems to be no hope…. I can still go free.

2.           When sickness attacks my body…. I can still go free

3.           When friends and family forsake me… I can still go free.

We are not limited if we are children of God.

Luke 12:32… Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. KJV

Isa 53:5….But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. KJV

This means that I can still go free!
Ps 91:1-12

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. [I can still go free!]

2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. [I can still go free!]

3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. [I can still go free!]

4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. KJV  [I can still go free]

John 8:36….If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed KJV

Thanks God for freedom from sin and the world we are not bound but free because.

A man on the cross put me in His will….And said that I could still go free.
