The Influence of a Spirit Led Home

2 Tim 1:5-6

When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.

KJV

Generational Blessings. Prophetic gifting/Impartations. Spirit of this last hour:

Mal 4:5-6

5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:

KJV

“6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.”

The incorrect picture of the aloof, distant, man of God is not reflected in this passage. The true Spirit led man will see to impart his gift to his family and mold the prophetic gifting in his children.

God desires to move in 21st Century homes that will literally be prophetic training centers. The prophetic utterance of Joel will be fulfilled upon the 21st Century Apostolic Church!

Joel 2:28-29

28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

KJV

1. Embracing a spiritual climate in the home that is conducive to prophetic enabling and spiritual gifting. (ex. TR McDonald. Prayer meetings/supernatural visitor. This heritage has been passed down to our home.)

Walk with the Lord in the home!

Gen 5:22

“And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:” KJV

Something about the awesome responsibility of realization that his lifestyle would influence a young child’s life forever changed the course of Enoch’s steps.

Goes without saying you cannot have prophetic anointing flowing one day and ripping phones out of the wall or screaming at each other the next!

If there is any place our Christianity should shine – it’s in the home amongst the family. But (and I’m positive that many will agree) sometimes the hardest place in all the world to live as a Christian is in the home. I noticed that some of you missed a good chance to say amen just then. One of the most difficult places in the world to shine as a Christian is in the home. Now, this is not an unscriptural statement. King David, who had a few family problems of his own prayed this prayer in

Psalms 101:2, (TLB) “Lord, how I need your help, especially in my own home where I long to act as I should.”

Psalms 101:2

“I will be careful to lead a blameless life–when will you come to me? I will walk in my house with blameless heart.” NIV

Now, I doubt if there is anyone who takes the Lordship of Jesus seriously, who has not prayed that kind of prayer at one time or another. “Lord, why is it that the place I want to be and do the best is usually where I do the worst? The place where I really want to show God’s love and be in the right relationship with others; why is it that it’s there that so often I act in a manner that’s the worst possible?”

Gen 6:9

9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

KJV

2. Discern the hand of God upon children & cultivate. Protect from spiritual pitfalls (such as spirit of rejection). Help them walk thru the times when feel like “square peg” in “round hole” or ask “why am I different from others. Build up with words of edification concerning their gifting. (ex. Jonathon at 5 years dream at church in St. Louis). When on long trips in car simply start talking positively and respectfully about “god having a mighty future planned” “God will use Jonathon in mighty manner” and comment positively on events we noticed of spiritual gifting working.

3. Be cautious how you speak of prophetic ministries.

Proverbs 18:21

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” KJV

2 Kings 2:7-8

“7 And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went, and stood to view afar off: and they two stood by Jordan. 8 And Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and smote the waters, and they were divided hither and thither, so that they two went over on dry ground.”

(Overly cautious “spectator/referee generation produced a generation that directly opposed and mocked the prophetic gift).

2 Kings 2:23-24

And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head. 24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

KJV

4. Prepare places (family altars/prayer rooms) and times for prophetic gifts and supernatural gifting to operate in the family. Encourage children to step out in gift among family with respect, love and acceptance. Encourage accountability ( hand tape recorders, prophetic journals).

Acts 21:8-11

“And the next day we that were of Paul’s company departed, and came unto Caesarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was one of the seven; and abode with him.

9 And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy.”

Possibly groomed gift in home?

It is God’s desire for us to recognize prophetic gifting early and allow Him to raise them up within our parental guidance.

Amos 2:10-11

“10 Also I brought you up from the land of Egypt, and led you forty years through the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite.

11 And I raised up of your sons for prophets, and of your young men for Nazarites. Is it not even thus, O ye children of Israel? saith the LORD.” KJV

Very distressing to me when I hear of a young man or woman whose parents are HG filled who has to try to develop his/her prophetic gifting in environments outside the home because of lack of discernment or even open ridicule.

Ever wonder how it must have been around the home of Jesus? It was apparent that he began developing his spiritual gifting early;

Luke 2:49

“9 And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?” KJV

After Jesus returned home and subjected himself to his parents, it is apparent that they cultivated his spiritual ministry as recorded in Luke 2:52;

“And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.”

In John chapter 2 at the wedding of Cana, when Mary spoke to Jesus that they had no wine and the unto the people, “whatever he says to you do it,” could it be that Jesus formed much of His ministry right there among his brothers and sisters? (Matt 13:55-56)

Jochebed’s and Amram’s influence on Moses, Aaron and Miriam, three mightily gifted leaders of Israel who no doubt honed their spiritual gifting under the spiritual guidance of their parents.

The influence of a Man of God who will live his prophetic gift in his home as well as in the public assembly ministry can be seen in the scriptural account of Moses;

Num 11:24-29

“And Moses went out, and told the people the words of the LORD, and gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them round about the tabernacle.

25 And the LORD came down in a cloud, and spake unto him, and took of the spirit that was upon him, and gave it unto the seventy elders: and it came to pass, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, and did not cease.

26 But there remained two of the men in the camp, the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad: and the spirit rested upon them; and they were of them that were written, but went not out unto the tabernacle: and they prophesied in the camp.” KJV
