Who Is Jesus? Part 3

(He Is…)

In the March issue of Outreach magazine, there was an article that was titled, “I Love Jesus, Not The Church”. Today’s non-Christians are big fans of Jesus, but are less thrilled by churches. The common feeling is that church has become a place that teaches and talks less about Jesus, and more about what programs they have.

In the article one person said, “I wish the Church taught more about Jesus.” In this generation there is a curiosity to know who Jesus is. Everyone that meets Him likes Him and so this generation is looking for church to be about Him and His teachings.

Last week talked about Jesus’ teachings and how he talked much about the Kingdom of God. He told Nicodemus, “unless you were born again, you can’t see the Kingdom of God.” Bro. Grady shared with us at the end of the message Rom 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Today I want to tell this congregation that if you want to experience the Kingdom of God, then experience the King of the Kingdom through the Holy Ghost.

Who Is Jesus? We know he was a man who was born of the virgin Mary and His earthly father was a carpenter named Joseph. We know that he live most of His life in Galilee which was a small town of Nazareth. He taught about the Kingdom of God, he healed the sick and cast out demons. So who Is Jesus really?

He’s The Healer

Isa 53:5

5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

KJV

· In this building this morning we have people who have felt the healing hand of God on their life. Sickness and disease has come against many of our homes and plagued our lives, but I have come to declare that Jesus is the reason for healing.

· Sickness and Disease are not of God. Because man failed in the garden, man must be delivered from sin, sickness and disease. The only way that we can be healed, is through the power of Jesus Christ.

· Isaiah prophesied it…”with His stripes we are healed.” I don’t have to be bound by sickness, because of Jesus. I don’t have to be bound by disease, because of Jesus. Just as the song we sing, he that the Son sets free is free indeed, I have come to tell you that he is here this morning to set you free.

· If you are sick in your body, Jesus is the healer.

· If you are hurting in your body, Jesus is the healer.

· If you have something that is wrong, Jesus is the healer.

· If you are fighting depression, Jesus is the healer.

· Don’t look at this preacher as the healer. Don’t look at the singers who sung this morning as the healer. Don’t look at the Sunday School teachers as the healer. There is only one healer, and his name is Jesus…

Jesus healed blinded eyes

Jesus healed the crippled

Jesus healed the demon possessed

Jesus healed depression

Jesus healed mental defects

Jesus healed men

Jesus healed women

Jesus healed children

· I have come here this morning to tell you, If you need healing for your body, Jesus is the Healer.

He’s Forgiver of Sin

Acts 5:30-31

30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.

31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

KJV

· Jesus came so that we might have forgiveness of our Sins.

Acts 26:17-18

17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,

18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

KJV

· Jesus was talking here. He was saying that the gentiles, which is anything other than the Jews will receive forgiveness of sins and have an inheritance which is by Him.

· Sin is what separates man from God so the only way man could be reconciled back to God was through the shedding of blood. So Jesus became the supreme sacrifice, which took on the sins of the world and because he died for our sins, we now have forgiveness through Jesus Christ.

· It don’t matter what kind of past you have. Jesus forgives

· It don’t matter what you have been doing. Jesus forgives

· It don’t matter what you have smoked. Jesus forgives

· It don’t matter what it is. Jesus forgives.

· You are looking at a preacher that did some bad stuff, but Jesus forgave me. This morning He wants to do the same. No matter the sin, Jesus can forgive it today.

He’s Our Deliverer

In this room is ex-drug dealers

In this room is ex-drug addicts

In this room is ex-alcoholics

In this room is ex-adulteresses

In this room is ex-fornicators

· This morning this church is full of ex’s because Jesus has delivered them. My brother Allen was a meth-head, but Jesus changed his life. Bro. Mickey, Bro. Grady, Bro. Jason were alcoholics, but Jesus changed their life.

· There are some who were depressed, but Jesus changed their life.

· There are some who were dealing with addictions, but Jesus changed their life.

· Whatever struggle you have, I am here to give you hope. Jesus is our deliverer.

If you want to be set free from sin. Jesus can

If you want to be set free from alcohol. Jesus can

If you want to be set free from drugs. Jesus can

If you want to be set free from depression. Jesus can

· Jesus is our deliver.

Conclusion

· Jesus is our healer. Jesus is our forgiver. Jesus is our deliver.

· Last year about this time, I was dealing with deep depression. It was heavy and I felt like hiding many times. I struggled to come to church and be with my family, because I felt like no one cared. I felt weak, sad, confused, and my emotions were changed.

· I even come to the point, what would it be like if James wasn’t here. What would it be like, if I had never been born. No, I never attempted suicide, no I never came close, but the thoughts began to haunt me.

· On evening, I turned to God and began to just cry out, “Please deliver me, please heal me.” I cried and screamed for God to hear me and I felt the calming hand of God on my life once again.

· He never left me. He never forsook me. He was always there, he was just waiting on me to call on Him.

· This morning, I feel like God is wanting to forgive somebody of their past. I feel like God is wanting to deliver somebody.

· Is there anybody that wants to experience the touch of Jesus this morning?

· Grab the person’s hand next to you and come to this altar this morning. Let’s go home by way of the altar.

· Somebody is going to leave here forgiven. Somebody is going to leave here delivered. Somebody is going to leave here feeling some weight lifted.
