Sowing And Reaping

Matt 25:14-19

14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.

15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.

16 Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.

17 And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.

18 But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord’s money.

19 After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.

· Here we have something good and something bad, I know a lot of times we focus on the man who only had one talent and we preach and teach only on him.

· But we can see very clearly that 2 out of the 3 men did what they were supposed to do. They went out and did something with their talents.

The Bible says… Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

· He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

· Whatever you put in the ground is what’s going to come out of the ground.

· I read another verse of Scripture that ought to get a hold of us, and quite possibly cause some to change some things about ourselves.

John 4:37….And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.

· There is nothing more that I love other than God, than my children, and my grand children. And to think that they my have to reap for what I sowed scares me.

· I want to teach to us tonight about “REAPING AND SOWING”

· I believe what the Scripture teaches concerning those that sow to the flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption.

· But tonight I realized that 2 out of the 3 men did what was right in this parable.

· In saying that, I believe that a strong argument can be made that this parable focuses primarily on the good side of sowing: sowing to the spirit to reap life everlasting.

Galatians 6:9 says….”And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not”.

· Church I want you to know “For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting”

· We see here two kinds of seed, good and bad, the flesh and the spirit.

· Everybody is sowing, everybody is putting seeds in the ground, every body is going to reap.

· But what will be your harvest?

· Did you know that in 1940 just one generation ago, schools opened with prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.

· Whether God blessed our school’s or not, God’s blessing was asked upon the school, on the lessons, on the students, and on the nation.

· It was one nation under God and he was honored every day in the classroom.

· In that year the top seven disciplinary problems were: talking in class; chewing gum; making noises; running in the halls; cutting in line; improper clothing; not disposing of garbage.

· Today, the survey’s are quite frightening: the top seven disciplinary problems are: rape; robbery; assault; burglary; arson; bombing; and murder – almost all of which are related to drug abuse.

· Parents like or not, our children are not: Just saying no!

· In New York City and probably in a lot of inner city schools, kids are walking the halls with their pants down to their knees, nuts and bolts coming out of every orifice in their bodies, gold chains around their necks, spike hair dos, tattoos every where, soaking and cursing and carrying wads of 100 dollar bills.

· Restrooms are now shooting galleries and smoking dens, and yes even place to rape young girls.

· The school boards said God was not wanted, but the devil was welcomed with open arms!

· So in came the occult, humanism, and doctrines of perversion.

· Promiscuous sex was glorified and homosexuality was praised.

· The liberals called for condoms to be freely distributed in classrooms.

· Now they want condom vending machines in all high schools.

They call it AIDS protection!

Look what we are now reaping:

· One-half, 50%, of all births in our cities are now illegitimate!

· One-fourth of all pregnancies are now being aborted –

· In America, 47,282.923 babies have been aborted since 1973.

· 4,400 each day, 1.3 millions babies a year in America are aborted.

· In the world, there are 128,000 babies killed a day and 46 million a year.

· Just think in one generation we have gone from chewing gum to machine guns!

· In the Bronx, in New York City one juvenile delinquent brought an Uzi machine gun to class, hidden under his jacket.

· Students used to have respect for their teachers and people of authority but today the teachers are more afraid of the students than what the students are of the teachers.

· Can you imagine what the schools look like when Chase, and Josiah, and Benjamin, and Logan, and all the other babies we have go to school?

· Let me tell you some facts according to the Bible, when the doors are open and the Devil and all his satanic forces are invited into a place and God is told to stay away, the place is going to be the Devil’s playground, and also his recruiting station for more of his army.

· What about the “sexual revolution” of the past twenty years?

· What a harvest are we reaping now for years of sowing to the flesh?

· The liberal press and the corrupt theologians called for a new day of sexual freedom.

They wanted no more religious moral standards, no more restraints.

The cry was, “Anything goes between two consenting adults!”

· Hundreds of thousands of gays came out of the closet.

· They even have gay day at King’s Island 20 miles from here.

· I know you don’t like it, but there is not one thing you can do about it.

· Go there and protest and say something to someone and see what happens to you.

· That homosexual spirit has taken their message into the public schools; they marched on our streets calling for gay rights; they moved right into our government and are now demanding our representatives to pass laws that will protect them.

· Rosie O’Donnell every morning on the “View” talks about her Lesbian life style as something to be glorified.

· They show her kissing her partner, and they show both of them with their kids as if it the same as a man and a woman.

· They try and pass it off as a modern, typical, run of the day, American family.

· Today America is flooded with books, movies, and TV series glorifying lesbianism, group sex, and wife swapping!

It’s called sexual freedom.

· But now God says it’s not sexual freedom, it’s pay-day, it’s reaping time, now it’s time for the harvest.

· The death angel has come to say, “The party’s over!”

The American Social Health Association says that their Static’s say that ½ off all Americans will contact an STD at some point in their lives.

  • The estimated total number of people living in the US with a viral STD is over 65 million.
  • Every year, there are at least 15 million new cases of STDs.
  • Each year, one in four teens contracts an STD.
  • One in two sexually active persons will contact an STD by age 25.
  • About half of all new STDs in 2000 occurred among youth ages 15 to 24.
  • One out of 20 people in the United States will get infected with hepatitis B, sometime during their lives. Hepatitis B is 100 times more infectious than HIV.
  • It is estimated that as many as one in four Americans have genital herpes, a lifelong infection, yet up to 90 percent of those with herpes are unaware they have it. With more than 50 million adults in the US with genital herpes and up to 1.6 million new infections each year, some estimates suggest that by 2025 up to 40% of all men and half of all women could be infected.
  • Each year, there are almost 3 million new cases of chlamydia, many of which are in adolescents and young adults.

Herpes, Chlamydia, and Aids is out of control.

· Chlamydia now infects over four million females in America, leaving many of them infertile.

· Many of these girls have no chance of ever having children.

· Syphilis, an old disease, is on the increase.

· Used to be 15 years ago 600,000 units of penicillin were prescribed to syphilis patients.

· Now it takes 4,800,000 units and it’s still not killing the virus!

· This virus is becoming immune to penicillin.

Now there is a new sexually transmitted cancer virus known as papilloma, (cancer of the mouth) – a form of cancer being found in young women.

· Also the rate of incest is up 100% in the last ten years.

· The end is nowhere in sight as the harvest keeps getting worse daily.

Since September 2, 2003…5,974,553 women have contacted the Aids virus. And who knows where the AIDS epidemic will end?

· There can be no doubt that God’s word is true when it says “You reap what you sow.”

· Let’s look at how America has went after the all-mighty dollar.

· Do you know that some say that the American dollar is America’s God?

· Some economists have said that the same attitude and the same drive that the Wall-Street business man has today is the same attitude that the men of 1857, 1880, and 1920 had.

· These are the men who brought about the Stock Market Crash.

· The more they get, the more they want.

· It’s madness! It’s pandemonium, it’s chaos, and it’s mayhem.

Most of America is consumed with materialism, selfishness, pride, carnality, they are full of the lust of the flesh, lust of the eye and the pride of life. There eating and drinking, marrying and giving into marriage.

· But church before you go home and say the Pastor has just preached to me into total depression and hopelessness.

There is a good side to this sowing and reaping:

· “And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more, His lord said unto him. Well done, though good and faithful servant: thou has been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

· He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold I have gained two other talents beside them. His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things; enter thou into the joy of thy Lord”

· Tonight I am going to prove to you by the word of the Lord that living for God and coming to church and loving God is the best thing you can do for yourself and also for your family.

I want you to know God’s church is alive and well.

· Although there is chaos and trouble and wickedness, and perversion outside these doors, God church is strong and protected by Jesus Christ Himself.

· I am convinced that when God comes back for the church the church will not be off in some corner cowering in fear just barely hanging on when He returns.

We will not be raptured in a whimper.

· The church of Jesus Christ will jot be crushed or crippled by the tide of wickedness.

· It will not be weak, confused, or beaten down by demonic powers.

· This parable proves that God will have a fruitful, glorious harvest at the end.

· Two out of three of the Lord’s servants will come to the judgment loaded with fruit and full joy – happy about a great harvest.

· They will not be losing ground or be barely making it.

· Instead, they will say, “I have gained – what God has given me has been doubled.”

· There will be some that will be “good and faithful,” not backslidden or dead, hot and not cold or lukewarm.

· They will not be cast down, not destroyed, not forsaken, and not in despair.

But the will have joy unspeakable joy.

· In our Parable tonight we can see very plainly that “the man traveling into a far country” is Jesus.

· Who will “after a long time” come back for those that He gave something too, He will take an account of His goods.

· We are those servants, “His own,” and the talents represent the Holy Ghost, our time, our treasure, and our talents, I also believe we will have to give an account of our faithfulness and our love for God word.

· We will have to give an account of those God has put over us, and we will have to give an account of how honored our pastor and how we tried to live by the word he preached and taught to us.

· We are also going to give an account of all the highways and by-ways that we went into.

· Jesus said go out and compel them, fill my house because I want it full.

Luke 14:16-23

A certain man made a great supper, and bade many:

17 And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.

18 And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused.

19 And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused.

20 And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.

21 So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt , and the blind.

22 And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room.

23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

Can I tell this church tonight that God’s kingdom is not affected by the Devil?

· We as the end-time church are commanded to go out and compel them.

· All of us who have been filled with the Holy Ghost have been given a talent, and everyone must sow.

· Let me ask have we allowed the conditions of the world to cloud our mission?

· Have we let the perversion of our society take away our purpose?

· God is looking for somebody that will say in these last days, I must increase my talent, I must reap the harvest, I must invite somebody to church.

· I cannot come one more service with the seat in front or the seat in back, or the seat beside me to be empty.

“Where sin doeth abound Grace doeth more abound”.

· Will there be a reaper that will say we must reap this harvest?

· God is not affected by the devil, He is not affected by the economy, He is not affected by violence and He’s not affected by any of the world conditions.

· The trees are loaded with fruit, the fields are full of wheat, the gardens are full and running over, what will we do?

· Church in closing let me show you in reality what is really happening.

· The Devil knows his time is at hand, it’s rapture time.

· He knows it almost his time to establish his kingdom.

· Every one of these pillars of truth and standard and righteousness is being attacked and in some cases destroyed, is just another pillar being torn down.

2 Thess 2:1-12

Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.

7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

· The pillars of our society is coming down, sin, iniquity, wickedness, evilness, unrighteousness, homosexuality, adultery, drunkenness, drugs, perversion, no prayer in schools, no 10 commandments, no remembrance of Jesus Christ, now it’s God because that satisfies all religions, incest, pornography, abortions, materialism, selfishness.

· Each one of things that we allow as a society is just another pillar being torn down so that Satan can establish his kingdom and rule this world.

· That’s okay the flood gate has been open, but I’m sticking with the church.

· I’m staying with God, I’m going to continue to occupy until He comes.

· Let me ask what have you been sowing, and what will be your harvest?

· Did I step on your toes and hurt your flesh by some of things I said?

· It’s all in God’s word, it’s His way of waking you up, so that you might shake yourself and ask yourself what am I doing?

1 Cor 3:13-15

Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.

If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss.

“For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting”
