Who Is Like Our God

Psalms 113:5

Who is like unto the LORD our God, who dwelleth on high,

The Psalmist David asked a question who is like unto the Lord and I want us to ponder that today who is like unto the Lord our God.

·        Micah 7:18  Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.

Look at our God

·        He is a mighty God

·        Psalms 50: The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.

·        Deuteronomy 7:21  Thou shalt not be affrighted at them: for the LORD thy God is among you, a mighty God and terrible.

Not only is he the mighty God he is the Almighty God

·        Revelation 1:8  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

Our God pardons iniquities.  He lifts up and takes away the sin of his people.

·        Psalms 103:12  As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

·        Hebrews 9:26  For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

·        1 John 3:5  And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

He passes by the transgression.

·        Not only does He forgive sin, but when He forgives, He does not punish the sin.

·        Proverbs 19:11  The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.

·        Proverbs 10:12  Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.

·        Love first hides, does not expose, and then forgives and forgets all sins.

·        Isaiah 43:25  I, even I, am He Who blots out and cancels your transgressions, for My own sake, and I will not remember your sins.

He does not retain anger…

·        Psalms 30:5  For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

·        Psalms 103:8  The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

Our God is a God of everywhere.

·        1 Kings 20:28  And there came a man of God, and spake unto the king of Israel, and said, Thus saith the LORD, Because the Syrians have said, The LORD is God of the hills, but he is not God of the valleys, therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into thine hand, and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

·        1 Kings 8:27  But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?

·        Isaiah 66:1  Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?

·        Psalms 139:7-10  Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?  (8)  If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.  (9)  If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;  (10)  Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

Who is like our God, who does miracles.

·        Acts 15:12  Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them.

·        Hebrews 2:4  God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?

There is no God like our God.

·        1 Kings 8:23  And he said, LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart:

The Lord said this about himself.

·        Isaiah 45:21  Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.
