Filled With All the Fullness of God
Ephesians 3:17-19
I. What God wants
A. Deuteronomy 10:12 And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,
1. God is not satisfied with 2nd place
a. Exodus 34:13 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:
II. Created in His image
A. Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
1. We are created for the purpose to worship God, not because we have to but because we want to.
2. We can never get away from the need to look to something greater then ourselves.
III. Walls
A. In innocence we begin to trust everyone until we are hurt. It is at that point in time that we begin to build a wall around our lives to protect us from more hurt. That wall does a good job of protecting us but also stops good things from entering our lives as well.
B. Not letting God take full control is a symptom of a wall that we use to protect our lives. In order for God to take full control we must completely let down that wall.
IV. Bringing down the wall
A. The walls of Jericho
1. I suppose that Israel received some grief from the inhabitants of Jericho as they marched around the walls, but they continued to obey the Lord.
2. Through the offering of praise to the Lord, God gave victory to Israel.
Ephesians 3:17-19 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
