Can God Deliver Us? Duh

Daniel 6:19-20 KJV

19 Then the king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste unto the den of lions.

20 And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?

Daniel was thrown in the lion’s den because of those that were envious of his success. Even King Darius was disappointed because of the trickery that was used to cause him to make the decree in the first place. Basically Daniel was cast in the lion’s den because of the law that is irreversible as with us who have no hope because according to the law we should die. Satan is the accuser of the brethren as those that crafted to have Daniel destroyed, is after us as well. Although Darius tried to have Daniel delivered, he could not accomplish it because the law is the law. But what is impossible with man is possible with God.

An excellent spirit

Daniel 6:1-3 KJV

6:1 It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom an hundred and twenty princes, which should be over the whole kingdom;

2 And over these three presidents; of whom Daniel was first: that the princes might give accounts unto them, and the king should have no damage.

3 Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.

Devising a plan for destruction

Daniel 6:5 KJV

5 Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God.

*Those who are living for God with their whole heart will display the fruits of the Spirit against which there is no law

Accuser of God’s people

Daniel 6:10-13 NLT

10 But when Daniel learned that the law had been signed, he went home and knelt down as usual in his upstairs room, with its windows open toward Jerusalem. He prayed three times a day, just as he had always done, giving thanks to his God.

11 The officials went together to Daniel’s house and found him praying and asking for God’s help.

12 So they went back to the king and reminded him about his law. “Did you not sign a law that for the next thirty days anyone who prays to anyone, divine or human — except to Your Majesty — will be thrown to the lions?” “Yes,” the king replied, “that decision stands; it is a law of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be revoked.”

13 Then they told the king, “That man Daniel, one of the captives from Judah, is paying no attention to you or your law. He still prays to his God three times a day.”

Revelation 12:10 tells us that Satan is the accuser of the brethren which accused them night and day before God

The law is the law

Daniel 6:14

14 Hearing this, the king was very angry with himself for signing the law, and he tried to find a way to save Daniel. He spent the rest of the day looking for a way to get Daniel out of this predicament.

Luke 18:26- KJV

26 And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved?

Daniel 6:16-17 NLT

16 So at last the king gave orders for Daniel to be arrested and thrown into the den of lions. The king said to him, “May your God, whom you worship continually, rescue you.” 17 A stone was brought and placed over the mouth of the den. The king sealed the stone with his own royal seal and the seals of his nobles, so that no one could rescue Daniel from the lions.

Why are you so worried for?

Daniel 6:18-20 NLT

18 Then the king returned to his palace and spent the night fasting. He refused his usual entertainment and couldn’t sleep at all that night.

19 Very early the next morning, the king hurried out to the lions’ den. 20 When he got there, he called out in anguish, “Daniel, servant of the living God! Was your God, whom you worship continually, able to rescue you from the lions?”

Darius was not sure what to expect but went there just to be sure!

Daniel’s response

Duh!!

Daniel 6:21-23 NLT

21 Daniel answered, “Long live the king!

22 My God sent his angel to shut the lions’ mouths so that they would not hurt me, for I have been found innocent in his sight. And I have not wronged you, Your Majesty.”

23 The king was overjoyed and ordered that Daniel be lifted from the den. Not a scratch was found on him because he had trusted in his God.

2 Timothy 1:12 NLT

12 And that is why I am suffering here in prison. But I am not ashamed of it, for I know the one in whom I trust, and I am sure that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until the day of his return.

I say “Long live the King of kings and Lord of Lords!”

Luke 18:28-30 KJV

28 Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee.

29 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God’s sake,

30 Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.

Can God deliver us? Duh!  Let Him deliver you!
