The House Of Breakthrough

Isaiah 66:8-9: “Who has heard of such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall the earth be made to give birth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? For a soon as Zion was in labor, she gave birth to her children. Shall I bring to the time of birth, and not cause delivery?

I am anticipating and praying that our church will shortly break through to a new place of freedom in Christ. We must break through walls of empty, formalistic, dry, staid, mediocre and meaningless professions of lip-service modes of worship. We must break forth into a place of contrition and humility that will birth travailing prayer, a burden for the lost, loving obedience to the Word, submission to one another, spontaneous and heartfelt praise and worship, along with supernatural signs, wonders, and miracles.

Have you ever reflected on some of the WOMEN IN JESUS’ GENEALOGY WHO BROKE THROUGH TO A PLACE OF DESTINY?

Matt 1:1-6 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham. Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren; Judah begat Perez and Zerah by Tamar, Perez begat Hezron, and Hezron begat Ram. Ram begat Amminadab, Amminadab begat Nahshon, and Nahshon begat Salmon. Salmon begat Boaz by Rahab, Boaz begat Obed by Ruth, Obed begat Jesse, and Jesse begat David the king. David the king begat Solomon by her who had been the wife of Uriah.

The widow of Uriah was Bathsheba -(daughter of the oath). She overcame the situation of adultery, the loss of a child in judgment, and gave birth to Solomon – SHE OVERCAME SIN.

Rahab – (proud) a harlot of Jericho who helped the spies who had been sent there by Joshua. She was the ancestress of eight prophets, including Jeremiah and the prophetess Huldah. SHE OVERCAME SHAME

Ruth – (friendship) a destitute Moabite widow – left her people and her homeland to serve her widowed mother in law. Humbled herself to glean – take the leftovers in the field of Boaz -overcomes poverty, OVERCAME SELF.

Matthew 1 tells us that Judah begat Perez by Tamar. Let’s take a closer look at

THE HOUSE OF PEREZ

Going first to Ruth 4:11-15, which records a dialogue between Boaz and some of the most influential people of his city regarding Ruth, his bride-to-be: “And all the people who were at the gate, and the elders, said, ‘We are witnesses, The LORD make the woman who is coming to your house like Rachel and Leah, the two who built the house of Israel: and may you prosper in Ephrathah and be famous in Bethlehem. May your house be like the house of Perez, whom Tamar bore to Judah, because of the offspring which the LORD will give you from this woman.'”

Notice these holy Spirit inspired words in the book of Nehemiah regarding the fruitfulness of the house of Perez:

Neh.11:6 “All the sons of Perez that dwelt at Jerusalem were four hundred threescore and eight valiant men.'[468 men, who were brave, fearless warriors comprised the house of Perez]

I Chr. 27:2-3 mentions a man by the name of Jashobeam, who was one of the children of Perez, and the chief of all the captains of David’s army. (The leader of the 30 mighty warriors of David; he joined David at Ziklag and was best known as the man who killed at least 300 men at one time.)

Now take a look at the

BIRTHING BREAKTHROUGH IN
THE STORY OF TAMAR – GENESIS 38

Gen 38:27-30
“Now it came to pass, at the time for giving birth, that behold, twins were in her womb. And so it was, when she was giving birth, that the one put out his hand; and the midwife took a scarlet thread and bound it on his hand, saying, “This one came out first.”  Then it happened, as he drew back his hand, that his brother came out unexpectedly; and she said, “How did you break through? This breach be upon you!” Therefore his name was called Perez.  Afterward his brother came out who had the scarlet thread on his hand. And his name was called Zerah.”

Tamar (palm tree, erect), a Canaanite (humiliation) whose first two husbands died, played the harlot (Gen.38:6-11) to conceive a child by Judah. This particular woman in the genealogy of Christ OVERCAME SIN, SHAME AND SELF.

She was a victim of other peoples’ unrighteousness, selfishness and broken promises. She was used and abused. For example, a man named

Er – One of the sons of Judah, was Tamar’s first husband. Er was wicked and God killed him. It seemed that her fulfillment of destiny was going to be plundered by someone else’s sin and wrongdoing.
Oman – Was Er’s brother, a man who wouldn’t give her his sperm as was the custom in that day for a brother’s widow who had been left childless. Oman withheld her inheritance because he knew it would belong to his brother. Again, Tamar became a victim of selfishness and fraud, and her ability to conceive/reproduce was being controlled by another. Because of his sin, God killed Oman.
Judah’s 3rd Son – Again, Tamar’s inheritance was withheld due to delay, broken covenant and false accusation.

It seemed like 3 strikes and you’re out!!! Her barrenness led to bitterness and taking desperate measures. She didn’t conceive an illegitimate child, but conceived the seed of lineage that she was entitled to and belonged to, yet she did it in an illegitimate way. Judah’s wife had died and Tamar hadn’t been formally given to the third son yet, so the conception of her twin sons, though outside of legitimate marriage, was in the family line through her father-in-law. This brings us to

THE BREAKER ANOINTING

PEREZ =  was the name given to the baby boy who broke forth unexpectedly from Tamar’s womb ahead of his twin brother. His name means to break out, break through, the breaker, to burst out, to grow and increase, to open, to press forward   – The picture of birth – to break through by pressing forward

ZARAH = to irradiate light, to rise and shine. The people of Bethlehem blessed the union of Boaz with Ruth, saying to him:

“MAY YOUR HOUSE BE AS THE HOUSE OF PEREZ” – THE HOUSE OF BREAKTHROUGH!

Breakthrough Defined: “A Military movement or advance all the way through and beyond an enemy’s front line defense; an act or instance of removing an obstruction or restriction; the overcoming of a stalemate; any significant or sudden advance, development, achievement or increase that removes a barrier to progress.”

I read about The Breaker this morning in Micah 2:13 – The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the LORD on the head of them.

Revelation – 1 Sam 3:1 – And the child Samuel ministered unto the LORD before Eli. And the word of the LORD [the revelation of his mind and will to men] was precious [rare] in those days; there was no open vision. [Literally, there was no vision that broke forth. Even though prophecy was an essential condition of the spiritual life of Israel, it had not gone forth and been established of late. God had not entirely withheld the gift, but neither had it been permanently granted to his people as something settled and to be expected

Man needs the word of God! Without it we are ignorant of the highest truths, and have no ability to know them by our own efforts.

As in the days of Eli, so it is today. Indifference prevailed. Corruption was rampant.

The absence of a vision breaking forth from anointed lips is worse than a famine of bread. Amos prophesied during a time of great spiritual declension and moral pollution The situation got so bad that God showed his man a basket of summer fruit.  And he said, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A basket of summer fruit. [The Lord shows that the people is ripe for judgment].

Then said the LORD unto him, The end is come upon my people of Israel; I will not again pass by them any more.

Explaining this revelation, Amos denounced the oppression and greed of the people, and warned them that those who despise the Word of God shall some day suffer from a famine of the Word. Am 8:11-13  Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it. In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst.

In an hour such as this in which we live, we desperately need the Lord of Breakthrough! 1 Ch 14:8-11 And when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard of it, and went out against them. And the Philistines came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim. And David inquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? and wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto him, Go up; for I will deliver them into thine hand. So they came up to Baal-perazim [the lord/master of a breakthrough]; and David smote them there. Then David said, God hath broken in upon mine enemies by mine hand like the breaking forth of waters: therefore they called the name of that place Baal-perazim.

I want you to believe God with me for Expansion – Gen 28:14 – God’s visionary word came forth to the seed of Abraham named Jacob, saying: And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

Gal 3:13-16 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man’s covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.  Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.   Gal 3:26-4:1 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

I wonder, who will believe God with me, not only for the expansion of his church in this community, but also for Abundance – Gen 30:43 – And the man increased exceedingly and had much cattle, and maidservants, and menservants, and camels, and possessions

This is a Word for THIS CHURCH and for
EACH OF YOUR HOUSES INDIVIDUALLY!!

8 PRINCIPLES OF BIRTHING BREAKTHROUGH
FOR A NEW BEGINNING

1. Be Willing to Change
To birth something you must undergo stretching, and uncomfortable times. Change is the way of life. Don’t leave well enough alone! There is more for us! Challenge yourself to change!
2. An Attitude of Praise is everything!
Tamar and Judah produced Perez – Praise broke the curse of injustice and brought breakthrough!John Maxwell:  “Most people are very close to becoming the person God wants them to be. You’re only an attitude away.”
3. You Must Leave the Past Behind
Tamar had to look ahead and break through her past disappointments, setbacks, shame. and overcome a victim mentality.
Phil 3:14…but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
4. FOCUS
Faith Operating Consistently Until Satisfied
Determine your goal, get a focal point and a vision. What are you aiming at? What are you believing for?
5. Breathe!
In other words relax and learn to Trust in God. Labor to enter into the rest of faith.
6. Don’t Be Limited By What Seems Impossible Or By What Others Say Is Impossible
It was impossible to break the 4-minute mile until Roger Bannister did it. Now over 350 men have broken the same barrier.
7. Push Until the Breakthrough Comes!
Trying times are no time to quit trying! Quitting is not an option. Don’t give up! Some have quit and have lost their birthrights! The brink of disaster and the brink of supernatural look a lot alike!
8. Be Prepared for the Double Portion Blessing!
Tamar birthed twins who were both named in Christ’s genealogy.

THE DOUBLE PORTION

What is the double portion? It deals with inheritance, it’s more than natural possession:

·         It reverses the curse – “Instead of your shame you will have a double portion” (Isaiah 61:7)

·         It is a guideline of expectation for restoration of what the enemy has stolen – “If a thief be caught with a living animal he is to restore double (Exodus 22:4).

·         It is the picture of spiritual heritage (mantle) being passed as with Elijah and Elisha

·         It represents the marriage of twin anointings:
Warfare & Worship
Apostolic & Prophetic
Building Locally/Warring Globally
Community Harvest Yet Impacting Nations
Winning Souls & Equipping For Destiny
Reaching The Needy & The Wealthy
Prophesying & Also Being A Prophetic Demonstration
