The Instruments of Worship
( My Self / My Bible / My Tongue / My Checkbook )
Num 3: 6 Bring the tribe of Levi near, and present them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister unto him. 7 And they shall keep his charge, and the charge of the whole congregation before the tabernacle of the congregation, to do the service of the tabernacle. 8 And they shall keep all the instruments of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the charge of the children of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.
I use this verse as a launching point… LEVITICAL priesthood kept the tabernacle in order. They kept the instruments of the worship prepared and usable.
è The physical things: Altar / / laver / golden candelabra /
shewbread table / incense alter / ephod priestly garb / censors /
knives / etc…
Everything that was needed to worship God under the law!
IT’S NOT THAT COMPLICATED IN 21ST CENTURY…
But it is just as critical that we do it right!
So what is the instruments of our worship? (4 of them )
#1. MY SELF!
Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
TRUE WORSHIP… will change your life! (emotionally)
God wants a people that Love him with all their heart – And also willing to live Holy! So I “HONOR” him with my body by preparing it as SINLESS as is physically possible!
#2. MY BIBLE!
II Tim 3: 14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; 15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: YOU CAN LIVE YOUR LIFE BY THE BOOK!
#3. MY TONGUE! (which is connected to my thoughts)
James 4:1 From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? 2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. 3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. (YOU’VE GOT TO LEARN TO DO THIS THING RIGHT!)
THE BOOK SAYS…
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
We are told to SUBMIT & RESIST! James told us that you can not FAKE Christianity!
LISTEN è If you try to resist the Devil without being Submitted to God – you will get a whoopin! J
Endeavoring to come “together” to accomplish a MIGHTY goal!

It is VERY lofty for a district our size…
ONE THING I HAVE LEARNED…
Satan is not going to just let us do it w/o a fuss… He is resisting us!
*** We have been greatly resisted in Norfolk… (I know the pattern)
You step in faith and Satan PUNCHES you and DARES you
to do it again… So you know what you do???
YOU DO IT AGAIN!
JAMES TOLD US TO RESIST THE DEVIL –
NOT LET HIM ALWAYS RESIST US!
You put some pressure on the pressure and P.U.S.H.!
BUT UNDERSTAND = YOU CAN’T FAKE FAITH!
Let me show you this in operation!
Mat 4: 8 Again, (WARFARE IS CYCLICAL) the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and showeth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; ( JUST LIKE HE DOES US! ) 9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, (THERE IS ALWAYS A CATCH!) IF thou wilt fall down and worship me.
WE MUST GET OUR WORDS LINED UP WITH OUR MIND!
“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole
world, and lose his own soul?”
10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. 11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
Remember when you have been in a long trial… they always end!
DEVILS LEAVES AND THE ANGELS COME TO MINISTER!
That is why he said to the Elders of the church…
I Pet 5: 6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. 10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
Want to know why we have to often go through a long sustained time of testing?
So that all the garbage in us can be burned out like dross
– So that we can GROW UP!
AND BE… MATURE, ESTABLISHED, STONG & SETTLED!

Devil is whippin on you? = THEN GET OUT YOUR INTRUMENTS OF WORSHIP AND RESIST HIM!
Get your instruments in ORDER and in AGREEMENT!
MY SELF (consistent Godly lifestyle)
MY BIBLE (learn the word)
MY TONGUE (speak faith)
There is one more POWERFUL instrument of worship!
#4. MY CHECKBOOK! (Who is Lord of your checkbook?)
My Life / My Book / My Tongue / My Money are
ALL Instruments of Worship!
The instruments are PROGRESSIVE… and they EFFECT each other… ( each will STENGTHEN or WEAKEN the others)
lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. 8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. 9 Honour (“TO MAKE WEIGHTY”) the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
Any Substance Abusers Among Us?
So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and
10 Prov 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and thy presses shall
burst out with new wine.
THE KEY TO BLESSING IS TO GET THE CYLCLE GOING…
give, given to you, give again ect.
You can’t be afraid of never having any NEW substance!
The instruments must work in unison to be powerful…
POINT: You cannot talk faith w/o acting on it with your
checkbook. (meaning management)
è You cannot just give w/o having your tongue in line
with your giving.
è You cannot just have your tongue in line without your
lifestyle being in line.
SEE HOW THESE ARE INSTRUMENTS OF MY WORSHIP?
I Tim 2: 8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting. WORDS MATTER!
I PRAISE him AND resist the devil with the same instruments!
MY LIFE, MY MOUTH, MY BIBLE AND MY CHECK BOOK
Resist the devil and he will flee! – Give and it shall be given!
WE MUST BE WILLING TO BREAK OLD MINDSETS!
*** You can’t keep thinking the same old ways and
expect a different out come! ***
II Tim 1: 7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of
power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
FEAR OF GIVING HAS TO BE BROKEN IN OUR MINDS!
THE LORD GETS WEARY OF US GOING IN CIRCLES AND NEVER LEARNING NEW THINKING
Josh 6:10 And Joshua had commanded the people, saying, Ye shall not shout, nor make any noise with your voice, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I bid you shout; then shall ye shout.
à He wasn’t gonna let other peoples fear stop him again!
You know… Our mistakes is not the ONLY thing we can learn from! GET GODLY COUNSEL
SAINTS: Find some mature stable saints
PASTORS: Need to get advice from more experienced pastor
Exercise your Faith… Pledge to Missions… RESIST the DEVIL!
GIVE… and it SHALL BE given… PRESSED DOWN!
So in wrap up… MY Life, MY Bible, MY Tongue and MY Checkbook HAVE TO BE IN AGREEMENT
It will make devils flee and angels come to minister!
