Declaring Deliverance

Luke 4:18

18       “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed;

(NKJ)

I have felt strongly impressed to preach on deliverance today.

If there has ever been a people that should be free it is you and I.

Holy Ghost.

The gift of God for your life. Complete freedom is God’s gift.

Blood bought. Redeemed. The ransom has been paid.

Name of Jesus is a strong tower.

Jesus name carries all authority. No challenge against it can stand.

Devils tremble at the mention of that name.

Sickness is dispelled. Disease is destroyed. Spirits are cast out. In Jesus name!

Yet even though we know these things there is a tendency to allow things come into our lives that have potential to dominate us.

If we are not cautious, a simple thing can begin to take dominion over our attitudes.

I spent a few weeks teaching on priorities. Some things bear repeating.

Your actions reveal what your priorities are. Your behavior reveals what your priorities are.

Your worship reveals if you are truly free or not. Your worship reveals if you have a pursuit of God in your life.

I want to tell you today we need deliverance from shame.

There are some of us here that are so afraid that something is going to come out that we are bombarded daily with shame.

Our minds are locked up in a cell of thoughts and regrets over our failures. We have not been able to free ourselves, so we have learned to live with the shame.

I am declaring deliverance to this church today.

It is time to be delivered from shame!

Everyone here, today is the perfect night to start over in your walk with God.

We often refer to Joel 2:28 as the focal point of Pentecostal promise.

But let me show you the real power that was promised.

Joel 2:27

27       Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel: I am the LORD your God and there is no other. My people shall never be put to shame.

(NKJ)

954  buwsh-   to be ashamed before one another

God wants to remove the shame from our lives.

God wants us to never again fear what our brother or sister thinks about the failures we have had in our lives.

Be adultery, lying, cheating, stealing, drugs, or whatever, you are forgiven! Man puts degrees on sin, God doesn’t!

The prodigal came home and was given a new robe. A covering. That covering identified him as a son. Not a slave, not a helper. Not a runaway, not a prodigal! He was a son!

Listen to how God wants us to love one another. This is the way God wants us to view one another.

James 5:20

20       let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.

(NKJ)

1 Pet 4:8

8          And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.”

(NKJ)

2572  kalupto- to hide, to veil  to hinder the knowledge of a thing

Oh! That we would decry the need for details!

Brother, I don’t want to know it all! I just want to tell  you that if you will repent today, God is going to deliver you and you will be freed from the shame that has held you captive!

Prov 10:12

12 Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all sins.

Please, tell me who is not worthy of the grace of God. Who is it that is qualified to determine what individual is worth of Calvary’s cross?

I am declaring deliverance to this church today!

Prov 21:31

31 The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but deliverance is of the LORD.

There are times that we are steeling ourselves to face the battle. We make all of the preparations for another day of dealing with recurring sins. We do our best to assuage the feelings that come into our emotions, trying to convince ourselves that we can make it.

That is futile effort. Only God can deliver! But that is not some elusive thought! He prompted my spirit this afternoon to tell this congregation today, he is ready to deliver you!

Deliver you from fear.

Deliver you from failure.

Deliver you from shame.

Deliver you from a habit.

Deliver you from a memory.

Deliver you from a sin filled thought life.

Deliver you from sickness.

Deliver you from compulsive behavior.

Deliver you from doubt!

David vs Goliath.

Each of us have faced a goliath in our own walk with God. Most of us will again!

Familiarity breeds unwarranted contempt. We mustn’t fail to make the connection between the historical accounts of God’s deliverance to our needs today.

The word of God is for today as well as any other day. Not prejudiced or discriminatory toward any group of people. If you are a believer, the word works for you!

Psalms 119:89. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.

Psalms 119:105  NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Psalms 119:107  I am afflicted very much: quicken me, O LORD, according unto thy word.

Psalms 138:2  I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

It is to teach us today to trust God. Believe God. Have faith in God.

Some here today are facing obstacles, barriers and hindrances that have hounded you for years. Some of your lives have more pain filled years than joy filled ones.

Its time to knock the head off of that old dragon!

Goliath is so typical of our struggles. Taunting. Blaspheming.

The majority of struggle is against blasphemy. What do I mean? God can’t! anything that says God can’t is blasphemy!

Your past blasphemes God on a regular basis. It stands up in defiance to the will of God for your life today. It will tell you that you are defeated already. Step out onto the battlefield if you dare, but you are going to be defeated once again! You will serve your past.

Aren’t you ready to kiss your past goodbye? Aren’t you ready to stop living with the vote of your past in your every thought?

Every time you start to make progress your past votes against it. nope! Not today. You aren’t qualified to do that. Remember what you used to do?

I want to challenge that voice today. Its time to get rid of our shame!

The Lord laid a passage of scripture on my heart for today.

Is 52.4   For thus saith the Lord GOD, My people went down aforetime into Egypt to sojourn there; and the Assyrian oppressed them without cause.

5  Now therefore, what have I here, saith the LORD, that my people is taken away for nought? they that rule over them make them to howl, saith the LORD; and my name continually every day is blasphemed.

6  Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I.When we get rid of our shame we will worship freely.

The scene is of Israel being mercilessly persecuted. Oppressed. Without cause. Gratuitous hostility against them.

God didn’t like it. He doesn’t like it when it happens to you either!

His cause in your life is greater than the voice of your past and shame.

David walked out onto that battlefield and simply put:

1.     Put his faith in God.

2.     Killed that stinking giant!

Simply put today, its time to kill the giant of your past! Your shame has got to go!

When we get rid of our shame we will operate in the spirit.

When we get rid of our shame we will destroy its hold on our flesh and we will enter into the realm where God can use us!

Then we can win souls! Then our services will be filled with faith!

Then miracles will occur! Then signs and wonders will occur!
