I’m Not Mad At God

Luke 17:1  Then said [Jesus] unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!

·        Jesus said it is impossible to live in this life and not have the opportunity to be ___________________________!

2 Timothy 2:24-26 24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, 25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

·        The Greek word for “offend” in Luke 17:1 is “skandalon.”  It means, “the trigger of a _________” or “__________.”

Matthew 24:10-13 10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

·        One of the signs of the end time is that ______________ __________________________.  Jesus says that these people are easy prey for FALSE PROPHETS!

Proverbs 18:19  A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city: and their contentions are like the bars of a castle.

·        Walls of offense quickly become STRONGHOLDS, which are “set patterns of __________________ through which all incoming information is processed.”  Our walls become a source of _________________ because these false thoughts war against the true knowledge of God.

2 Corinthians 10:4-5  4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

·        The function of God’s Word is to momentarily allow you to get a glimpse of the truth about yourself, to divide between __________ thinking and __________ thinking.

·        Hebrews 4:12  For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

HERE IS GOD’S TRUTH ABOUT HIS PURPOSE FOR YOU:

Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV)  For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT)  For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

JESUS SAID IT BEST:

Matthew 11:6  And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.
