God is Light

1 John 1:5  This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

·        Light is absolutely pure, impossible to defile.

·        God does not just HAVE light, He IS light!

1 Timothy 6:15-16  ¹⁵Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; ¹⁶Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

·        God allows us, born in sin’s darkness, to be born again into His marvelous light!

Colossians 1:12-13  ¹²Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: ¹³Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 

John 1:1-4  ¹In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ²The same was in the beginning with God. ³All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. ⁴In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

·        Stephen Hawking:  “The universe just IS.”

·        Albert Einstein:  “Time is an illusion.”

·        RELATIVITY:  Time ceases to pass at the speed of light.

1 Timothy 1:17  Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Psalm 90:2  Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

·        GOD’S TWO WORDS FOR TIME:

o   CHRONOS – Time governed by the clock

o   KAIROS – Time measured by special moments

Luke 19:41-44  ⁴¹And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, ⁴²Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou,  at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. ⁴³For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, ⁴⁴And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the TIME of thy visitation.

Acts 24:25  And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient SEASON, I will call for thee.

Galatians 6:9  And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due SEASON we shall reap, if we faint not.

·        We can trade the commodity of time for eternity by what we do in prayer!
