Text:

Acts 26:24-28

I. A Watchman

            A. Ezekiel 3:17-19   Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Yet if          thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

                        1. The greatest responsibility

                                    a. The soul of a human being

            B. 1 Corinthians 9:16   For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!

                        1. No choice

II. The nature of mankind

            A. Ecclesiastes 3:11  Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.

                        1. Just because judgement doesn’t come quick, don’t be fooled, it will come

            B. Galatians 6:7-9    Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for      whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that        soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.  And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

                        1. Each and every one of us will be rewarded according to our actions.

III. Our only hope

            A. John 3:1-3    There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a         teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

                        1. The new birth experience is the only way to freedom

            B. Acts 2:38-39   Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

IV. Almost

            A. Acts 26:28   Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou            persuadest me to be a Christian.

                        1. It is never recorded that Agrippa ever gave his life to God.

                        2. What will be said of you?
