In this final lesson of the series, we dive into The Samuel Fast. The Samuel Fast turns outward and involves itself with the restoration, renewal, and revival of the church. A revival is needed when there is lack of brotherly love and Christian fellowship among leaders. When there is a worldly spirit in the church, when Christians begin to conform to the world in all manner of dress, language, and entertainment, there is need of a revival. Revival is not an automatic experience. It is something to be desired and prayed for. God is the source of all real revival and it comes only from His presence. Revival will bring a powerful sense of awe in our lives for God. When we come together for a time of fasting and praying then we realize that we have an obligation to each other. Samuel was creating a powerful sense of unity among the children of Israel. He was unifying their mind, heart, and vision into one. Fasting was a very good way to bring the people together in unity.
