A Clean Heart and a Right Spirit

In this sermon A Clean Heart and a Right Spirit, the clean heart is the inward work of grace and is what God does in me. It represents the root of holiness. The right spirit, is the outward work of God, and stands for what He does through me, and suggests the fruit of holiness. A clean heart is one all saints pray and long for. This is the sanctification of spirit, soul, and body Paul describes in I Thessalonians 5:23.The clean heart is a holy creation. Because issues of life spring from the heart, it's essential for it to be purified and to be kept pure. Unless the fountain is clean the water will not be wholesome. The liability to sin is always present even in the best of us. There is a distinction between being "blameless" and "faultless." Often we are blameless but never are we faultless. We make many mistakes, but are blameless in that, because of partial light, we did not know them to be mistakes.
