God I Remember

God never intended for you to go through something without getting something out of it.

God isn’t disappointed in your storms. He was disappointed in the apostles because they did not remember the loaves.

God isn’t disappointed because you are afraid in your storm, but listen He was disappointed because you forgot what you just went through.

Did not Jesus come to you while you were lost and living deep in sin? Wasn’t God with you when you were trying to deal with all the change in your life?

Wasn’t God there with you when you were confused and wondering what all this means?

Here you are years later, with a better life and a Holy life. You are a new creature in Christ Jesus and you understand why now.

Don’t worry about the storm consider the Master of the storm; consider what He has already brought you through.

  1. Look at your kids, when you were in sin you were teaching them the wrong way to live.
  2. But now they love church now and they talk about things of God.
  3. Now they say things they hear at church…and that ought to excite you.

Don’t forget where God brought you from and don’t forget where He is taking you.

I know people struggle with things. I know that sometimes the devil hits you with temptations,

I know that you really understand the things of God, but you are going through the test just like Jesus did in Matthew four.

  • Satan tempted him to break his fast because he knows the power of a fast.
  • Satan tempted him and tried to get him to prove his devotion to God by trying to get him to cast himself down from the pinnacle. “Prove that you are who you say you are.”
  • He tested his love for God and his faithfulness by offering him all the splendor and riches and fame of the world.
  • Satan tested Jesus by trying to get Him to bow down and worship him

You got to understand when he is tempting you it’s because he knows you are different.

He knows you are a threat to his Kingdom. So keep resisting him and he will flee.

  • Let me tell you something, you are the wrong size for the world you can never fit into that lifestyle again.
  • Let Satan know you are the same person that came to church when you were dead tired.
  • Let him know you are the same person you were when you couldn’t pay your bills, but you paid your tithes.
  • Let him know that when all adversity came against you and your family, you are the same person that got out in the aisle and shouted and worshipped God.
  • You are the same person that loved God when you didn’t have a penny to your name and while everyone else was going out to eat you went home because you didn’t have any money to spare.
  • Tell him you are the same person that depended on God to supply your needs and someone would just come up and say, “here, I love you” and they blessed you.
  • You are the same person that when your child was sick you didn’t get mad at God because you had a church family that loves you and they prayed until your baby got better.

I may go through a tough time but my God gave me the ability to survive my storms.

I know my God walks into my storms and calms my fears. I remember where I was, but I still know where I am headed.

I’m not going to back up, give up, or shut up because I know whom my redeemer is!

I have power to walk on serpents and scorpions and nothing is going to hurt me!

Because my God gave me that power when He went away.

Devil, I’m not going to deal with you any more, you have taken enough of my time. I’m going to praise my God and He will drive you far from me!

Your power is not where you are right now it’s where you’ve been. Because Jesus said, “I am the same yesterday, today and forever”.

If He walked in your storm once He will walk into it time and time again, because you are the apple of his eye.

The Psalmist David said:

Ps 91:1-12

1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

  • If all this is my promise,
  • If my God never changes,
  • If he is still the same yesterday and today and forever,
  • If he is walking in my storm, I can’t lose this battle!

When I think of His goodness and what He’s has done for me, when I think of his goodness and how He set me free I want to SHOUT! SHOUT! SHOUT! SHOUT! All night!

Tell your adversary, “I still got my scraps, and I still remember the leftovers”.

The enemy doesn’t pick you on because you are weak, but because you are strong.

He has the weak; it’s you he’s after because you are a scraper.

You’ve been through enough fight that you can reach back and remember the scraps, so reach back behind you and pull out some scraps and defeat the enemy.

If God is for you who can be against you?
