I Am The Way

When we think about faith, we usually think of how to trust in God, how to do something without seeing it and reach for things that look impossible.

I believe that is a great part of having faith.

I have never seen God, never heard an audible voice from heaven, never seen an angel but yet I believe in God.

Faith is not in what we see or hear or even touch, faith believes without any manifestation.

2 Kings 6:15-17

15 And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?

16 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.

17 And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man and he saw and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

The Prophets servant could only see with the natural eye and when all we see is the natural circumstances that surround us then our faith is weak.

The Prophet asked God to open his servant’s eyes that he would see the invisible things of God.

We have supernatural protection and guidance from God that we never see.

The problem with us today we are like the servant of Elijah we only see what the natural eye allows us to.

But if we could see in the supernatural, we may be more afraid of what we see and not move by faith.

Prov 29:18..Where there is no vision, the people perish : but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

Souls aren’t saved by the thousands in one place anymore due to the fact that there is no vision.

We only dwell upon the natural abilities that we have and never use the supernatural abilities that God has given us.

We can’t be faithful to God in anything because we have lost the vision.

We cannot do the supernatural because we have lost our vision of who it is that is really making it happen.

We go through the natural motions of trying to serve God.

We dress right we give, we even love the lost but we do very little in the supernatural.

Acts 16:9-10

And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.

10 And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavored to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.

Paul had a vision and immediately reacted to what he had saw believing God had given it to him.

That is working in the Supernatural acting upon what God shows and not waiting for God to give us another sign that it came from him.

Some of you have told me about visions and dreams, what have you done about them?

God gave them to you for a purpose what have you done about it?

He writer of Hebrews explains what faith is. Hebrews 11:1..Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

What he is saying to us is that faith is not what you see but it is who you trust.

You can’t see you children saved but God can so we don’t put our faith in our children but in God.

Faith gave the elders a good report: that means it pleased God when they trusted him.

Can we honestly say we trust God?

Prov 3:5-6

5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Deut 30:8-10

8 And thou shalt return and obey the voice of the LORD and do all his commandments which I command thee this day.

9 And the LORD thy God will make thee plenteous in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body and in the fruit of thy cattle and in the fruit of thy land, for good: for the LORD will again rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers:

10 If thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law and if thou turn unto the LORD thy God with all thine heart and with all thy soul.

It isn’t a request from God for us to do this it is if we keep ALL his commandments.

We can’t pick and choose which commandment to do we have to keep them all.

How does God supply all our needs by his riches in glory; through faith?

God moves for mankind through faith and holiness without it no man will see the Lord.

Most people want to please God. Hebrew 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

So if we have no faith in God we can’t please God.

· Faith is believing without seeing and faith will bring to pass the unseen.

· Faith is supernatural, it is the miraculous, it has formed the world and it has saved sinful humanity.

· Faith is obedience to God and his word. Faith isn’t looking at the present situation it is seeing the deliverance from circumstances beyond our control.

As long as we try to tell god how to do something that isn’t faith. Faith is putting things in the hand of God and waiting upon the Lord.

Faith is an action word. That is why we must take action, we must move out into the unknown doing what we know that God has called us to do.

Coming to church has not fulfilled our faith in God. Listen to this:

James 1:22-24

22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only , deceiving your own selves.

23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:

24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.

If we refuse to do the word of God then we have not really heard the word of God.

Prayer is an action performed by the believer; Soul winning is an action performed by the believer. So do we have faith?

Moses had faith in God and so did the people but many of them didn’t have faith in Moses.

Their faith built a golden calf and proclaimed it to be the god that brought them out of Egypt.

Moses faith took him to the top of a mountain in fasting and prayer to get directions straight from God.

If our faith doesn’t lead us to follow God then our faith is in Vain.

Jesus did more miracles than Moses and the people followed him because of the miracles.

Jesus told them I am the way, Moses told them this is the way God said to go but people followed after what they thought was right.

Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seems right unto a man but the end thereof are the ways of death.

If Jesus is the way then we need to follow him.

Faith in God sees the miraculous faith in our-selves see the destruction of mankind.

Faith in God and leads to obedience and obedience pleases God.

Luke 18:7-8

7. And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?

8. I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
