When Eternity Invades Time

 

Deadlines. Penalties. Timeframes. Schedules. Stress. All go hand in hand.

When I say April 15^th. Taxes.

When I say December 24^th. Christmas shopping better be done.

We live under the constant influence of time.

We need to understand a few things about time.

It was spoken into existence by God.

It is an island in the sea of eternity. It is a member of eternity as your appendix is a member of your body. Take it out and it still exists.

It has no bearing on eternity.

Eternity is the essence of God he is without beginning or ending. So it is with eternity.

The scriptures record God saying before me there was no God. Nothing existed before God.

Beside me there is no savior. No parallel universe. None after him. He truly is the first and the last.

He has never looked to another for help, assistance or backing.

I think it is a good thing for Christians to have a clear understanding of the greatness of the one true God. There is none like him.

No matter what the evolutionists say, God created the world. No matter what followers of eastern religion say, there is only one God. No matter what Confuscionists say, you must go beyond rational thought and be born again!

The story of Creation in Genesis 1 is fascinating to me. When you read it you discover that God was working entirely for the day that he would place his ultimate creation on the earth. Mankind.

The first thing he did was to build an arena for man to dwell in. he called that a day. Darkness and light would run in a continuum. Never ending cycle.  Time.

This was to be a gift for man. A place of coexistence for God and man. A place where God could come and spend time with his creation.

The cool of the day was spent in communion. This was best for the creature and a joy for the creator.

Then sin came. With sin came the penalty. Death. Sin caused time to cease being a gift, and forced it into  a deadline.

When the time of day approached for a walk with God, it became a threat and not a gift. A season with God had become a cause to flee the creator.

With that act, by one man, sin entered into the world. The whole world was condemned.

Time became a monster. It ravenously consumed every life it could

Lives that began in innocence and virtue were soon consumed by hatred, idolatry and odium for all that was good.

Time was working against man.

Satan knew that if he could cause time to become an enemy of God’s creation, he could defeat God’s purpose in the earth. (Worship)

Please note: God’s purpose will never be defeated!

God’s redemptive plan went into work.

God called a people unto himself. Abram. A man of honesty and integrity was called out of Ur of the Chaldees.

How interesting it is that God would choose a 75 year old man to begin a nation with. Consider it not accidental. God has something to prove. Time is going to meet its match.

You are going to be the father of many nations. Your seed will be as the stars and the sand of the sea.

Biological clock is ticking. Sarah is far beyond child bearing age. Abram’s body was dead. The timeframe was too late.

They tried it their way. Hagar the handmaid. Young. Able to bear. Go to her. Wrong move.

When time is against you, you can’t solve it yourself! You need eternity to intervene!

But eternity interrupted the timeframe! Isaac is born. God moved!

Later. Give me your boy.

Going yonder to worship. (note what God called sacrifice Abraham called worship).

Father, here is the wood and the rope and the fire, but where is the lamb? God will provide himself a lamb!

Boy is bound. Knife is falling. Time has run its course. Time is up! Eternity interrupts! Stop! Look in the bush! The lamb is provided!

Hey! Where are you at tonight? Giving up on your last hope? Getting ready to sacrifice your promise? Hold out! Eternity is about to come on the scene!

Is your time frame at its end? Are you running out of options?

Eternity is about to come on the scene!

No matter your situation, God is able!

Joshua and the battle against the Amorites. The tide was turning. Joshua sensed a sure victory. All he needed was more daylight.

So Joshua spoke to time. Listen to what he said. (Quote)

The sun and moon stood still.

Time is dependant on the sun. earth’s processes are dependant on the sun. tides, growth, etc. all needs sun’s influence. The world revolves around it.  Not eternity.

Time is dependant on the sun. Eternity is independent of both. God was willing to stop all of creation. The world for one battle.

What am I preaching to you tonight? Some of you are facing some situations that are running out of time. Some things that if you just had a little more of the good graces you could survive and have victory!

God is speaking in your direction tonight. Eternity is about to interrupt your scene! You are going to leave here with absolute victory tonight!

There are some things progressing on your life that you need to speak to! Time for you to come to a halt until God grants me victory!

I am preaching a word from God for someone tonight! Hear it!

You don’t need more time; you need to let eternal power go to work for you!

When Jesus came to this earth it was an eternal invasion like never before.

Hell was nervous. Men saw a man child, a man and at best a teacher. Hell saw eternity closing in on a timeline.

The devil knew time was running out for him.  Revelation 12 tells us that the devil was cast down and he knew that he only had a short time to work.

As I mentioned earlier, he worked aggressively, hungrily. He brought colossal fear into the hearts of men. He implemented kingdoms and dictatorships that destroyed the life and hope of God’s people.

But eternity came on the scene.

You have to realize with me the power that really walked the earth. We so often lose sight of what Jesus was doing.

He wasn’t just ministering to people. He wasn’t just caring for people. He was serving notice.

The rebellion of time is going to cease. It will be brought back into his control.

4 men brought the man on a stretcher.  Their old friend was running out of time. Palsy had destroyed him. He was a shell of the man he used to be.

Jesus saw their faith. Son, they sins be forgiven. He spoke to the eternal issue.  If he could forgive sins he could heal. Vice versa.

Its time to let him speak to the eternal issues in your life tonight. You’re suffering, you’re in misery. Let eternity work in you!

If Jesus would have never healed the man, he could die in peace.

Some of you are here tonight living in fear. It’s time to realize that eternal power of God is here to reconcile you to himself!

What matters about it? Sickness or sin? Eternity makes the difference for all.

Jesus teaching. Men sought to kill. Hemmed him in on a cliff. Seeking to stone him. Time’s up Jesus. You gonna die today! Eternity slips in. He slipped away out of their midst.

When he spoke.

Woman with the issue of blood. 12 years.

Out of hope. Out of money. Out of time.

Time is threatening her. Presses her way through a crowd and touches eternity. Wow! Virtue flows.

Biological time clock is rolled back. Instantly! Woman, thy faith has made you whole!

Where are you tonight? Running out of hope? Touch the eternal one whom time has no bearing on!

Matthew. Behold a leper!

Time and disease had destroyed his life and body. It was taking its toll. He was desperate.

If you will, you can make me clean. What was he asking for? An eternal interruption. A time reversal.

Jesus touched him. He was immediately whole. Years of slow painful dying reversed in an instant. Years of isolation and disgrace gone!

Have you been eaten by the leprosy of sin? Is there an area of your life that needs to be made whole? Its time to approach the master of eternity!

Lazarus. Messages sent. If you see Jesus, tell him to hurry to Bethany, Lazarus is at the point of death. He never showed. Time took its toll.

Dead 4 days. 3 days spirit stayed at the grave. Even the hope of some supernatural experience was gone. Jesus arrives.

Lazarus come forth! Eternity beckoned. It robbed time of the life it had taken!

Not merely man, this was God. Death has to surrender to life!

Somebody needs to fess up tonight. God is speaking to you!

You think you have exhausted your resources. Good. You think you have run out of time. Better.

Eternity is about to invade your little world with a powerful change!

Calvary. Death. 3 days. Time is up.

Empty tomb. Resurrected savior!

Its time for eternity to invade your life.

Sin says you have gone too far, too long, too fast.

Sin says that you have run out of time.

God says eternity is going to suspend the rules for you today! Fill you with the holy ghost.

You sought the Holy Ghost.
