The Background Of Easter: Part 3

John 12:1-15

In part three of "The Background of Easter" series, the two reasons Jesus came into this world, as a human, are synthesized. We discover that Jesus came to Earth to become King of Israel, but was rejected, leading to the culmination of his death. The two events are linked, because Jesus died for our sins on the cross, which never would have happened if he had become the King of Israel. His rejection of the throne gave him the opportunity to show the world who he really was, The King of Kings.

Topic: The Background Of Easter
In part two of "The Background of Easter" series, the distinction between the way Christians and secular people view death is defined. We are taught that death is the separation of our fleshly body and the breath of life, or spirit, that Jesus breathed into us at birth. This message focuses on the fact that there is an afterlife and that our actions determine the fate of our afterlife.
